Think Palm Beach… to the north is the sentinel that is the historic lighthouse atop the rugged Barrenjoey cliffs, to the east the blue Pacific and always, always great surf, to the west the expanse that is Pittwater dotted with sailing craft and occasionally bisected by a landing seaplane… On the ground day-trippers and surfers mingle with famous actors, rock stars and the well heeled… It’s BM’s, Aston Martins, Maserati’s and Mercs, locals and the weekenders, all on a grass-covered dune under towering Norfolk Pines. What a place for a market!

The iconic Palm Beach Market has been operating since 2008 and will now be run by the operators of award winning The Beaches Market Philip Taylor and Lindsay Frazer. “It’s my favourite weekend market,” says Lindsay Frazer. “It gives an opportunity for the local community to come together”.

As Palm Beach is the most northerly part of Sydney, every weekend tourists and locals alike stream north attracted by Palm Beach’s idyllic setting and it’s ‘destination’ status. Up to now the market has only traded in the summer months, but now will be open all year round.

The market offers customers a wider choice of products to peruse to add to the current high quality homewares, fashion and jewellery. “Why not stay for lunch?” There will be an expanded stall variety and more specialist food items, even a small food hub… Buy a loaf of fresh Brickfields bread, grab some French or local cheese or take home some famous Mayfarm flowers, have an Acai super-food bowl or smoothie, or a Vietnamese Pho soup and as always a great coffee.

We believe in giving the market a soundtrack, it’s always about the music for us and the atmosphere it gives, whether it is the cool Brazilian groove, Django Reinhart retro vibe or a local surfie singer songwriter.
